Into each generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a Chosen One, one born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires, to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers.
Don't work like that anymore. Story of Slaying--remixed. We're here, we fight, we kick major demon ass. Yeah. All of us.
Character: Faith Lehane Series/Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel Original or Alternate: Original
Age: 23 Gender: Female Species: Human Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Long dark hair, big brown eyes, large pouty lips. Depending when you cross tracks with her, she can manage to be both a little classy and a little trashy. She wears leather and skintight vinyl when she can get away with it, jeans and a pair of headphones if she can't. Maybe some dark lipstick if she can swing the cash. Faith comes slim, svelte, and stacked. She's also muscled 'cause a girl can't be too careful in these hard times, especially not when you're out kicking demon ass come darkfall. Notable markings include one black tattoo on her right arm.
Personality: She's one of those people who can both get along well with people when the subject's right, talktalktalk, and yet still be incredibly standoffish at the same time--usually when the topics hits on anything personal. she's a tough girl: take what she gets and will roll with the punches, but push her just a little too far, and she's gone, way the hell outta Dodge, no looking back. Second chances come hard with her, and so do lasting relationships. She's better now than what she once was, but patched-up doesn't always means fixed, and she's got a long way to go.
Abilities/Strengths: Faith is a Slayer, so this means she comes pack and package with superhuman strength, stamina, and natural reflexes. There are always some psychic abilities mixed in there somehow too... the ability to sense the demons, rout them out in a crowd, and also what comes from dreams... sometimes you can guess at the future, sometimes you can see what other Slayers see, dream. But there's no controlling that, not like you can do with your own body, which Faith takes plenty good advantage of.
Weaknesses: At heart, she's a little broken, a little insane, and a little lost and lonely. She's what Buffy would have been without the world that she lives in, the friends that she has, and that's what she's always looking for throughout her life. Because she wants to belong, she makes bad choices, and she takes on family figures that use her for their own, darker, purposes. She's tough, but she breaks, and if you know her well enough, it's not that hard to do.
Notable Possessions: She has a Gil Hibbens 1999 Jackal knife once given to her by the Mayor, the man she took on as the closest thing to a father figure she ever had. Buffy may have taken it, but it's hers and one way or another, it's hers again. Aside from that, on her person she's got a duffel bag of some clothes and weapons, lots of weapons. When you're a girl on the road all on your lonesome, you come ready and waiting. These include but are not limited to whittled states, flasks of holy water, crossbow and bolts, a sword or two, and a replica of Buffy's Slayer's Scythe--it may not be the true one, but she's Slayer enough to want one for herself. Called a scythe, it's clearly axe-shaped in make, the handle ending in a sharp stake because no vampire slayer is ever complete without one.
History: A lot of what we know of her backstory comes from a novel, which, truthfully in the ways of fickle, fickle fandom, means that it's not always considered canon, but it is good to draw from now and again. She was born in South Boston, her parents weren't exactly the best you can think of: one was an alcoholic, the other abusive and locked up in prison though she was always told he was dead. Even at an early age, she could dream true dreams and be called upon by long-dead Slayers looking for help. She was called on as a Slayer after the previous one, Kendra, died. Her Watcher, her helper and guide, was killed and brutally tortured by an old, old demon named Kakistos, one that followed her all the way to Sunnydale to kill her.
She's always been a bad girl, but there's worse places to fall as she finds once she accidentally kills a man and turns the wrong way to try and repent for her actions. Bad choices eventually find her facing off against Buffy, and stabbed in the gut with her own knife, left to die and ends up in hospital and in a coma. She wakes eventually, and after a few naughty shenanigans in another body, escapes to L.A. where she goes rogue, eventually being called upon to kill Angel. Tussling with him eventually lands her on the right path, this time to what she hopes to be true rehabilitation and atonement. For a while, she's in prison until the world goes to pieces and she has to break out, first to save Angel, then to try and help Buffy.
She's still out. Taken right after the end of season 7, because I can't really keep up so well with comic books as I can with TV shows.
